Porchester Place, London
This was a ‘one off’ pavement light manufactured on behalf of the Church Commissioners for the Hyde Park Estate. The order came to us from the contractor, Harte having been specified by Colman Architects. We have previous experience providing cast iron pavement lights for Hyde Park Estates. This particular pavement light measured 2,470mm x 1075mm. To produce this we worked closely with the contractor for whom we provided design, including drawings, pattern making, manufacture (fully glazed) and installation on site as a package. This particular design included the customers name ‘Hyde Park Estate’. Carmpton Quay, Dublin
This project was part of an upgrade to two retail units in the popular Temple Bar area of Dublin. The cast iron pavement lights were designed to let in more light and prevent water ingress to this heritage building. Studio 3 Architecture working on behalf of Ardstone Capital appointed Lissadell contractors to carry out the work. Hargreaves Foundry got the contract based on our track record and reputation earned in Ireland, along with that of our sister company Hargreaves Foundry Drainage, for delivering quality cast iron products. We provided four cast iron pavement lights, fully glazed and manufactured to meet the Westminster Council standard specification for cast iron road furniture and painted to our specification. We also provided clear instructions for the contractors for installation. Drummond Street, London NW1
This was a major project requiring 27 new cast iron pavement lights to replace the existing concrete ones. The total area covered by this installation was 40 metres. The architects were Urban Mesh an award-winning chartered architectural practice with extensive experience of renovating existing buildings in difficult urban settings. Urban Mesh appointed Oakmont Construction as contractors for their proven record of renovating and new build commercial office space. The process required various meetings and tenders after which Hargreaves Foundry were delighted to receive this significant order which included a full package from design and drawings through to manufacture, glazing and installation. The 27 pavement lights replaced the old concrete ones to improve the light ingress. The building included clerestory windows at ground level and together with the new pavement lights more light was drawn into the basement level, transforming it into usable office space.
