This was a major project requiring 27 new cast iron pavement lights to replace the existing concrete ones. The total area covered by this installation was 40 metres. The architects were Urban Mesh an award-winning chartered architectural practice with extensive experience of renovating existing buildings in difficult urban settings. Urban Mesh appointed Oakmont Construction as contractors for their proven record of renovating and new build commercial office space.
The process required various meetings and tenders after which Hargreaves Foundry were delighted to receive this significant order which included a full package from design and drawings through to manufacture, glazing and installation.
The 27 pavement lights replaced the old concrete ones to improve the light ingress. The building included clerestory windows at ground level and together with the new pavement lights more light was drawn into the basement level, transforming it into usable office space.
